Photography and Videography Prices: Drones

If you’re just starting out with your very own drone photography and videography company, then you might be wondering about how to price these. It might be a little different than pricing traditional photography and videography services because of the difference in gear involved.

If you take a look at different companies and sites that offer these types of services, you may find that there is a difference in how these are priced, which makes it difficult for you to determine exactly how you’re supposed to be pricing your own services. There are a number of ways that you can go about pricing the services that you can use.

Project-basis

One of the most common ways to price your photography and videography services is by charging them on a project basis.

Since not all projects work the same way, you can provide a custom quote for each project that is determined by the number of people needed to work on it, the amount of time that the project is going to take, and the equipment that you need to work on the project.

However, some clients don’t like this because they think that you’re trying to overcharge them, so it’s important that you have some form of price range standard to help you avoid this assumption.

Hourly

An hourly rate is another common way of pricing your drone photography and videography projects because of how simple it is. You simply charge clients for the amount of time it takes for you to finish a project.

However, make sure that you don’t intentionally stretch a project on longer than what is necessary, as this makes it look like you’re trying to make more money without delivering the product.

Packages

Package deals are another way of pricing your drone photography and videography packages. You can offer a combination of photos+video in a package and price them accordingly. You can also allow tomers to add on additional photos and videos for an added fee.

For example, perhaps your client wants to add music to their drone footage, or an edited video, then you can charge extra for an add-on. This is another popular way of pricing services as it gives the client a realistic idea of what they can expect as a final product.

The kind of equipment that you’re using

A more unusual way of pricing your drone photography and videography services is by the kind of equipment that you’re going to be using on the project.

Taking good quality photos and footage with a drone requires a good drone and camera, and you can show your clients that you take pride in the quality of your work with the equipment that you’re using.
